Lake Tahoe offers nearly unlimited possibilities for activities year round. If being outside with your family and loved ones is how you like to spend your vacation, then you will find perfection in a Lake Tahoe vacation.

The lake offers fishing, kayaking, canoeing as well as parasailing, skiing lessons, and dinner cruise boats. The mountains allow you to go hiking, mountain bike riding, rock climbing in the warm season, and skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.

Heavenly Inn puts you in the prime spot to enjoy all that Lake Tahoe has to offer. The ski lifts of Heavenly Mountain Resort are only a short walk, while a private beach and lakeside restraraunt are a quarter-mile away.

Lake Tahoe is truly a paradise for outdoor lovers. The warm weather provides unlimited possibilities for an abundance of recreational activities. We're close to a number of state park beaches and areas where you can kayak, hop on a wave runner, and rent a powerboat. Parasailing and hot air balloon rides are also nearby options.
From mountain biking to pleasure excursions, your biking options are endless in South Lake Tahoe. You can rent cruisers and mountain bikes from a nearby bike shop in Heavenly Village. The cruiser bike path begins a block uphill from the Inn. Mountain bike trails are located two miles away; however, they can be reached via the cruiser trails. Heavenly Gondola is something we recommend everyone try on their first day. Just two blocks from Secrets Inn, this amazing ride glides you to the top of the ski resort, where a viewing platform offers iconic 180-degree vistas that you will never forget. This is a great place to picnic, orient yourself to the lake and decide where you want to start exploring. Hiking is a popular activity, no matter the season. You can embark on self-guided and expert-led tours that are suited for all ages and abilities. If you like a challenge, ranger hikes, interpretive trails and several moderate to extreme paths that take you more than 10,000 feet are available. Three beautiful waterfalls located off the beaten path are well worth visiting. Our staff is happy to point you in the right direction.
If you are a climber, you're in luck. Every option is available, from bouldering to extremely difficult climbs. There are two spots that have hooks in the wall, but you will need to bring your own ropes and carabiners. Equipment rental shops are available, if needed.

Winter Activities

As soon as the snow hits the ground, Lake Tahoe transforms into a mecca for winter activities. Secrets Inn puts you in a prime spot to enjoy all that the area has to offer.
Five ski resorts—all within 1-hour of our hotel—boast unbelievable trails and varying degrees of difficulty for skiers and snowboarders. Most facilities host programs for adults and children of all abilities and several provide places for snow tubing. Secrets Inn is just a quarter mile from the ski lifts of Heavenly Mountain—the largest resort in California and Nevada. Two nearby lakefront resorts offer snowshoeing and cross country skiing: Zephyr Cove Resort and Camp Richardson. You can also enjoy fine dining and fun events, such as “Saturday Night Wine Nights,” where guests snowshoe out to the bonfire and enjoy wine.
